WHAT CAN I DO TO SAVE MORE MONEY FOOD SHOPPING?

I feel similar to I outlay approach to most income upon my food bill, for the singular lady I outlay roughly $90.00 the week. What have been a little steps, on top of coupons to save money? appreciate we in advance!

well i can only tell you my situation….we have the expensive stores…wegmans, tops, giant eagle, walgreens…etc

then we got aldis and a farmers market….ADLIS is like the walmart but cheaper so i go there

also just make sure you buy generic for all food that doesnt need to be namebrand i.e. corn, cerial, noodles

try not to buy munchies (which is next to impossible in my house lmao)

every week make a list before you go shopping of what meals you are going to make daily…by doing this i spread my money out because after i get into this habit i realise certain meals i already have ingrefiants for (noodles for spagetti, and sause etc) thus i save for that day…im really tired …and im sure theres more…but those 2 i mentioned are of key importance…and try to make the same night of every week spagetti week or whatever you prefer…then youre only shopping for 6 days instead of 7…because the 1st time you buy a meal like spagetti you usually buy enough for at least 2 or 3 meals…i hope i hleped

Adding to buying generic you can also shop for every two weeks instead of going once a week. I spend about $150 on food every two weeks and it works out just fine for me.

Another option is to buy wholesale. I don’t know if you have a wholesale store in your area but they are usually the best for buying in bulk. I love oatmeal and will buy 120 packages at a time and it costs me somewhere around 12-13 dollars…whereas I could buy 12 for $4

What’s your deal with coupons? do you just not like the time it takes to clip?

1. BUY ONLY WHAT YOU NEED(MAKE A LIST AND STICK TO IT)
2. DON’T BE FOOLED BY”MEMBERSHIP PRICING.” SOME STORES OFFER THE SAME FOOD FOR MUCH LESS.
3. BUY FRUITS WHEN THEY ARE IN SEASON
4. LOOK FOR LOCAL FARMER’S MARKETS
5. BUY IN BULK(COSTCO)

I agree with the first answer. If you have an Aldis close to you them by all means shop there. The prices are great and the quality is just as good. I spend half as much on groceries now!

I think you would benefit from doing a bit of planning up front. Work out what you are going to eat each day, and from that you will be able to work out a shopping list which you then need to stick to. Avoid buying beverages during the day from the coffee shop – it is much cheaper to make your own, and you avoid the temptation of the odd sticky treat !

I shop for groceries online and have them delivered. By avoiding going to the shop and sticking to my list I avoid all the marketing hype, and it is much faster way to shop.

I live in one of the most expensive states in the US (Hawaii) and this is what I do to save money on my food bill

Eat less meat. I cook a lot of slow cooker recipes that call for a lot of veggies, Hamburger helper meals (use slightly less meat then the box calls for) and meatloaf. There are other recipes that are on the web that you can look up that does not call for a lot of meat. Meat is expensive, and you do not need that much of it. And I also eat beans (I buy the dried ones, sooo much cheaper then the canned ones) once in a whle for my protein. Peanut butter is also a cheaper alternative to high price sandwich meats

eat a lot of pasta dishes, pasta is pretty cheap

Instead of soda, I drink a lot of kool aid. A bigger money saver would be drink just tap water And also too avoid if you can buying bottled water.

Eggs are cheap and good, you can eat them for breakfast lunch or dinner. And also too for breakfast avoid buying cereal, it costs way too much. It is much cheaper to eat oatmeal (but do not buy those little packets of instant oatmeal, get yourself the store brand large container of oatmeal, sure you have to add your own suger and seasons, but you save $$$), or you can make you some homemade muffins for a quick breakfast in the morning.

Do not buy name brands, all you are really paying for is for them to advertise their product to you, and do you really want your money going to that?

And also too remember to treat yourself once in a while. Saving all that money from eating hamburger helper and meatloaf means you can enjoy a nice steak once a month or so, or any other high priced treats

And also too I never clip coupons. They are always for name brand products that I do not need, to me they are just a big waste of time.
