I was examination this uncover upon tv as well as this was the penny pincher, turns out he was additionally the millionaire. He clipped coupons religiously, went online as well as found the many appropriate deals as well as got $300 value of groceries for usually 88 cents.
I know were not all saving which much, nonetheless it would be nice, though how many do we save as well as what is the many you’ve saved upon groceries regulating coupons.
pookiesmom: which is amazing.

.55 to a 1.00? maybe, they never have coupons for the products I use. Give me a coupon that works on store brands, fresh fruits and veggies, meats and doesn’t expire within the month.
I used to be a major coupon clipper, but to watch coupon values going down, while the groceries are going up; Its depressing!
I’ve saved up to $10 before (I think). I’ll use coupons if I see them, but I prefer to just buy generic and save that way. Certain things have to be name brand (mayo, toilet paper, cereal), but the rest I’m not too picky about. You can easily save money just by buying generic.
I’ve gotten $400 worth of groceries for $150 at Albertsons when the still used their card for additional savings. I always save 40% or more by using coupons while things are on sale (especially diapers..I haven’t paid more then $5 for a pkg of Huggies/Pampers in forever)
$25 to $50 a trip. I go grocery shopping every 2 weeks. I only shop at stores that have in store coupon books and i stock up on dollar deals and truckload buys whenever possible. I print coupons online for products i use instead of using newspaper clippings. And i often use the 10% meat and produce bags that anything you can fit inside of the bag is 10% off. My best record was 298 food items for 322.78. I did that back on the 8th of this month. It included steak. 25 pounds of hamburger and other expensive items.
Problem with a lot of coupons today is you have to buy 3 to get $1.00 off, or even with the money off the generic is cheaper. I usually save about $10-$20.00 a visit, plus I use my frequent shopper card and get another 5-10 dollars off. I search high and low for coupons online, in newspapers, magazines, anywhere I can find them but end up buying generic and leaving the coupon on the shelf for someone else to use.
It is possible. My MIL is famous for clipping coupons and saving tons of cash. She is really organized about it, clipping then filing then comparing ads from various stores to see where she should use her coupons to get the best deal. As long as you are not picky about a particular brand you really can save a lot.
There is a great site called MySavings.com that I spend a lot of time on. They have lots of great coupons and are always adding new freebies to send for. By signing up for freebies alone I have saved a lot in the past year because most companies will also send coupons when they mail you their samples.
Another thing to do is write to companies (email is fine) and tell them how much you love their product. Be honest, though, and only write to companies you actually do use and enjoy. I would say about 9 times out of 10, just for writing to a company, I have recieved coupons in the mail for free full sized products. Last weekend alone I used three such coupons and saved a total of $30 on three products alone (a bag of purina cat food, a large package of huggies and a country crock side).
Additionally, companies you have written to often mail “large sum” coupons that are great when products go on sale. About two months ago Pepperidge Farm mailed me 6 $1 off coupons which I saved. Two weeks ago I noticed Goldfish crackers go on sale at my grocer for 5 for $5. I used my coupons and recieved 5 bags of crackers for free.
Lastly, and this has nothing to do with coupons at all, but it’s my favorite thing to recieve. There are DOZENS of survey’s online for free magazines. Usually you write a short (50 word or so) essay reviewing a product, and in return recieve a free subscription to a magazine. Currently I am subscribed to 15 different magazines, some for one year others for 2 years, just for spending a few minutes filling out a survey. I pick and choose based on the magazines I am interested in. A little quick math tells me this is roughly $355 in total subscription costs if I actually purchased these subscriptions. If I bought the magazines off the shelf, yikes, I don’t even want to think about how much that would cost! I love relaxing over a magazine after my son is in bed.
My husband is constantly laughing at me, but we save a lot this way! Besides, it’s kind of a thrill to see how much you can save, isn’t it?
I save about $30 a week with coupons, but another $25-$50 a week by buying smart (on sale, buy 1 get 1 free, etc.)
I could put more effort towards this, but I don’t spend all my time doing it.
ya know i love to cut out the coupons and think about using them, lol, but then i always forget them when i get to the store and then i dont wanna buy the thing i went there for in the first place, because i have a coupon for it at home!!!!
i usually go to wal mart, but sometimes price chopper has some really good deals. i dont know if there are price choppers all over, but they have them here and i go there often to buy groceries. its neat cause you dont need ‘coupons’ you just have this ‘chopper shopper card’ that you can put on your keys, and the other day i saved $56.00, which i thought was good. i love it because at the register they always say at the end ‘you saved 56 dollars today!!!’ i love it, lol. i am VERY cheap. lolol.
my mom said that sometimes with coupons you end up spending more, but only if like you see like an air freshner you wouldnt normally even buy, for 55 cents off though you go and buy the damn thing and still spend an extra 3 bucks when you normally wouldnt have if you didnt see the stupid coupon!!!! lol.
I don’t know how she did it, but I know someone who will find ways to actually get money back from the store because of her genius coupon knowledge. It doesn’t happen like that all the time for her…but it has happened.
I’m not as faithful about it as some people. It varies, sometimes the generic brand is cheaper than the one with the coupon, even after the coupon. The most I’ve ever saved at one time is about twenty dollars.
I use coupons on sale items and sometimes the local store here has $10 off $50 or more purchase. So, after that I usually save between $15 and $22 dollars. Not much, but I do not go every week.
